Dr. Warren Byrd is a dedicated general dentist proudly serving Garner and the surrounding community at Timber Family Dental since 2019. After earning his doctor of dental surgery (DDS) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry, Dr. Byrd pursued advanced education in general dentistry through a rigorous residency at the Fayetteville VA Hospital. This specialized training enhanced his skills in comprehensive patient care, complex restorative procedures, and advanced treatment techniques, allowing him to provide exceptional, evidence-based dentistry.
Dr. Byrd combines this advanced expertise with a genuine passion for helping patients achieve lasting oral health and confident smiles. He stays current with the latest innovations to deliver personalized, high-quality treatments tailored to each individual’s needs.

Ruhi Patel, DMD
Dr. Ruhi Patel is a general dentist who is excited to begin serving patients in Garner and the surrounding community. Originally from South Carolina, Dr. Patel earned her doctor of dental medicine degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and went on to complete a general practice residency at Prisma Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC.
During her residency, Dr. Patel gained extensive experience treating a wide variety of patients and clinical needs, with advanced training in IV sedation, implant procedures, and comprehensive restorative dentistry. This additional hospital-based training helped shape her calm, confident approach to care and reinforced the importance of tailoring treatment to each individual.
Dr. Patel believes dentistry starts with trust. She takes time to listen, educate, and ensure patients feel comfortable and informed every step of the way. Understanding that dental anxiety can be a major barrier to care, she has a special interest in sedation dentistry and focuses on creating a relaxed, reassuring environment where patients can feel at ease.
Dr. Patel looks forward to getting to know her new patients, building lasting relationships, and helping each person achieve a healthy, confident smile.
Dr. Colin Barbaro
Dr. Colin Barbaro is thrilled to be caring for the Garner community following the retirement of Dr. N Rouse Wilson III. Dr. Barbaro brings with him a high level of advanced training from the Veterans Affairs Medical and Dental Center in San Antonio, TX. Due to his training, we are now able to offer procedures under IV sedation, as well as the ability to treat surgically complex dental implant cases which has been Dr. Barbaro’s passion since dental school.
Dr. Barbaro was born and grew up in Fayetteville, NC. After high school, he then followed two of his older brothers to Chapel Hill to pursue his bachelor’s degree in biology at UNC (with a minor in Tar Heel basketball). Dr. Barbaro loved Chapel Hill so much he decided to stay an additional 4 years to earn his Doctorate in Dental Surgery, where he met his future wife, Lauren, who is also a dentist. During his time in dental school, Dr. Barbaro developed a strong passion for dentoalveolar surgery with a special interest in implant surgery. He pursued this interest with research, multiple publications, and extensive surgical and restorative training during his residency in San Antonio.
Following graduation from UNC-Chapel Hill, Dr. Barbaro moved with his lovely wife down to San Antonio, TX in order to begin his Residency program at the South Texas VA hospital, with a focus on comprehensive dentistry, implant dentistry, and IV sedation. The San Antonio VA Residency program, regarded as the best level of training in the country, has provided Dr. Barbaro with many skills in implant dentistry both surgically and restoratively. Although dental implants are Dr. Colin’s passion, he received the highest level of training in all areas of dentistry including endodontics (root canal therapy), cosmetic dentistry, TMJ therapy, sleep apnea treatment, and Invisalign.
When Dr. Barbaro isn’t busy treating patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife, his 5 children, and their dog, Pearl. He also has a passion for all sports and a personal love for fishing, especially fly fishing.
Dr. Colin Barbaro’s treatment philosophy:
My passion is in treating people, not treating teeth. My goal is to come to work each day and hopefully make a positive difference in my patients’ lives by helping care for their oral health. I maintain a focus first on establishing a healthy mouth and secondly on restoring diseased mouths back to health be it through a simple filling or multiple dental implants. I have undergone extensive and comprehensive training in all aspects of Dentistry in hopes to be able to comprehensively care for my patients in a comfortable environment.
