After earning his doctor of dental surgery (DDS) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry, Dr. Byrd pursued advanced education in general dentistry through a rigorous residency at the Fayetteville VA Hospital. This specialized training enhanced his skills in comprehensive patient care, complex restorative procedures, and advanced treatment techniques, allowing him to provide exceptional, evidence-based dentistry.

Ruhi Patel, DMD
Dr. Ruhi Patel is a general dentist who is excited to begin serving patients in Garner and the surrounding community. Originally from South Carolina, Dr. Patel earned her doctor of dental medicine degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and went on to complete a general practice residency at Prisma Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC.
During her residency, Dr. Patel gained extensive experience treating a wide variety of patients and clinical needs, with advanced training in IV sedation, implant procedures, and comprehensive restorative dentistry. This additional hospital-based training helped shape her calm, confident approach to care and reinforced the importance of tailoring treatment to each individual.
Dr. Patel believes dentistry starts with trust. She takes time to listen, educate, and ensure patients feel comfortable and informed every step of the way. Understanding that dental anxiety can be a major barrier to care, she has a special interest in sedation dentistry and focuses on creating a relaxed, reassuring environment where patients can feel at ease.
